Principal Software Engineer (Linux Drivers)-457211

Description

Major Responsibilities:

* Design and develop Linux kernel enhancements, device drivers and hypervisor features
* Hands on contributor towards adapting device drivers for supported domains
* Contribute to working on kernel features for power management, connectivity and  fast boot on x86 platforms
* Keep up to date with the latest advancements in relevant virtualization technologies  and related fields like Linux kernel, driver development and optimization etc.
* Driver development and back porting of drivers from latest versions of kernel

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

Typically a Bachelor''s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field and a minimum of 6 plus years related experience or equivalent or a Master''s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field and a minimum of 4-6 plus years experience or equivalent.

Required Work Experience

* Hands-on experience in Linux Kernel development. Building the kernel,  implementing kernel modules, and debugging the kernel
* Hands-on experience developing Linux device drivers for peripherals (video, networking, etc.)
* Experience developing, configuring, optimizing network drivers (Wifi, WWAN, etc.) under Linux will be a strong plus
* Knowledge of virtualization is a plus..
