Description
Responsibilities
* Reviews DFx content in development programs and provides technical feedback. Develops and implements concepts for a range of exceptionally complex manufacturing engineering issues.
* Designs new business programs and framework for process documentation. Documents revisions to business processes and new business processes in ISO format across divisions. Owns, generates and verifies metrics. Provides input regarding metrics under development.
* Leads and/or executes manufacturing engineering projects and spear-heads new manufacturing process analysis for new product commercialization.
* Serves as technical resource for CAD/CAM software analysis packages and troubleshooting of exceptionally complex manufacturing engineering issues. Mentors less experienced engineers.
* Interfaces with internal customers and performs vendor capability versus design need analysis.
* Responsible for resource planning for project support.
* Generates technical reports and recommendations for design changes and manufacturing strategies.
* Generates cost estimates for highly complex new product designs.
* Uses product specifications to develop manufacturing requirements.
* Specifies and reviews engineering documentation and engineering processes.

* Requires understanding of cost analysis, cost avoidance / reduction, cost management, manufacturability, producibility, design for assembly, design for green, reliability, short time to market, serviceability, testability, electrical management, dimensional management, manufacturing process assessment, PDP, ESW, GPSI, product structure, SPS, value engineering, product safety design requirements, SEMI standards/CE Mark, poka yoke, torque basics, sheet metal fabrication, PCB fabrication machining, cable fabrication, weldment fabrication, materials, FMEA, mechanical / electrical drawing review, GD&T design, tolerance analysis, first article inspection procedures, ergonomics, alignment, material handling, test strategies, tool strategies, test and tool specification development, finite element analysis concepts, DOE, SPC, root cause analysis, process mapping, waste identification, and lean manufacturing.
Qualifications
Skills
* Requires strong skills in change management, problem solving, communication skills, customer orientation, product technology, global business perspective, personal effectiveness, project management, team skills and applying quality; demonstrated ability in leadership.
* Requires proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project, Oracle BOM, Oracle ECO, FRACAS, PDM, GPSI, Autocad, Inventor, CAM (3DCS).
Education
INCUMBENTS ARE PREFERRED WHO POSSESS THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
* BS level degree or equivalent in manufacturing or mechanical engineering, or related technical discipline.
* 10+ years directly related experience, to include 7+ years in a manufacturing engineering related job role.
INCUMBENTS ARE PREFERRED WHO POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:
* MS level degree in manufacturing or electrical engineering
