Description:
* Leads execution of the audit process in accordance with Audit policy.  Will participate in projects as a Project Manager or Core Team Member as required.
* Accurately assess risks and controls and designs innovative and appropriate broad based coverage across a business activity.
* Exercises exceptional judgment regarding issue notification, issues draft findings to client management.
* Develops workplans for multiple concurrent projects that effectively incorporate scope, staffing requirements, deliverables, timelines, budgets and client availability
* Trains and mentors project leads and staff in required skills and transfers knowledge and understanding of audit methods and critical/complex business information
* Team leader utilizes advanced project leadership skills regarding engagement notification, task assignment and monitoring, interim performance evaluations and coaching, project pacing and control.
* May be asked by the audit SAS, SunTrust and professional organizations to present as a subject matter expert to present on their area of expertise.
* May provide assistance in Quality Assurance initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* Advanced knowledge audit principles, practices and methodologies with a minimum 6 years experience
* Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of:
* Financial and accounting principles and practices
* Operational environments of the banking business
* Technical environments of the banking business
* Legal and regulatory knowledge that apply to the financial business and/or expertise in critical areas of the business
* Advanced knowledge of audit policies that govern objectivity and independence.
* Expert knowledge of project management methodologies
* Basic leadership skills in development, motivating and evaluating employees
* Advanced oral and written communication skills

Education, Certifications and Licenses:

BA/BS or equivalent required, MBA preferred, 8+ years of experience preferred,

Appropriate Audit certification encouraged within 18 months of hire or transfer into the position
