Description
The Proteomics Scientist I in the Proteomics Core identifies biomedical research projects in progress or planned at St. Jude that may be facilitated or extended by involvement of state-of-the-art mass spectrometric or proteomic techniques and procedures. In collaboration with investigators, develops and executes experimental designs or strategies involving mass spectrometry or proteomics. Deploys or develops new experimental procedures as needed within the context of collaborative projects. Interprets experimental data. Contributes to the writing of manuscripts describing collaborative work and to the production of grant applications. Provides expertise and assistance to members of Proteomics Section in the deployment of analytical procedures. (MJP)
Job Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A Masters degree in proteomics, mass spectrometry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, or related field plus seven (7) years of laboratroy experience is required.
A PhD in proteomics, mass spectrometry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, or related field is preferred. If PhD, no additional research experience is required.
Preferred skills: experience with large scale and global phosphorylation analysis including enrichment strategies and quantitation
