Description

Requirements:  License to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of PA
Licensed as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) in the Commonwealth of PA
National Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.
Graduation from an accredited Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program with a Masters degree in Nursing.
Minimum of 2 years NICU nursing experience preferred
Advanced physical and psychosocial assessment skills for patients and families across all developmental levels
Critical analysis and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to interpret laboratory and radiographic data
Ability to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
Ability to work collaboratively through consultation with other health care team providers
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
All CHOP employees who work in a patient building or who provide patient care are required to receive an annual influenza vaccine unless they are granted a medical or religious exemption.
Job Description:  Provides clinical management for a caseload of sick neonates under direction of attending neonatologist in the CHOP and/or HUP NICU. Includes assessment, development of plan, implementation (writing orders, performing procedures), evaluation and documentation. May be involved in patient transport. Provides education and support to families of assigned patients. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team on plans of care. Provides staff education and clinical consultation to the interdisciplinary team.
