Description
We are looking for an entry level candidate to join the hp development team responsible for engineering our next generation Business Intelligence (BI) and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) product. You will be part of a highly innovative and successful team of engineers producing cutting edge products that combine hp''s high performance and world beating parallel SQL query engine, the power of hp''s latest hardware technology, and clustered Linux. Responsibilities will include the architecture, design, implementation, and verification and validation, of this next generation product offering.

The successful candidate MUST be pursuing their degree or have graduated within the past 12 months.
Education
We are looking for a recent college graduate (graduated/graduating within the last 12 months)
Strong academic credentials with a BS or MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
Experience and knowledge
* Demonstrable capabilities for creative problem solving
* Demonstrable understanding of & proficiency in the engineering disciplines required for successful team based software engineering, and execution of effective software engineering life cycles (including the rigors of system testing complex software)
* Experience with Agile software development methods
* Manifest ability to absorb and understand complex systems and new evolving architectures
* Experience or coursework in highly available & scalable hardware and software architectures; understanding of software reliability and fault and failure tolerance.
* Experience or coursework implementing complex algorithms and data structures
* Experience or coursework implementing message based distributed systems; knowledge and experience of the Message Passing Interface (MPI) standard and implementation, MPI based systems and MPI internals.
* An appreciation and understanding of the ACID characteristics of transaction processing, and familiarity with the X/open transaction model and standard
* Coursework or experience in relational database management systems and/or distributed database systems
* An understanding of Business Intelligence and the Enterprise Data Warehouse solutions and technologies
* Manifest proficiency in C/C++ software development, and ANSI SQL programming, and database application design.
* An understanding of database table structures and entity relationships
* Ability to design, implement and validate well structured, well-behaved software modules displaying the attributes of performance, reliability and scalability
