Description
Dow Jones Local Media Group (LMG) is seeking to hire an IT Manager-Publication Systems. This position is located in Middletown NY and reports to the LMG Application Technology Director. The IT Manager-Publication Systems will work independently to manage a diverse portfolio of newspaper/publishing systems that include circulation, editorial/publishing, advertising, human resource/payroll and business intelligence/reporting applications. The IT Manager will partner with Project Managers in the delivery of multiple complex and/or phases of large application projects. The position is accountable for all aspects of application systems management including: execution of application roadmaps, application Service Level Agreements(negotiation/management), liaising with business areas and technical resources across and outside of the organization, and management/mentoring of staff including performance reviews and developmental planning.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains strong working relationships with business partners, stakeholders and IT partners
- Oversees multiple diverse project efforts in partnership with project management team
- Monitors and manages SLA compliance
- Manages employees including annual staff reviews and career development planning as well as consultant resources
- Ensures compliance with Dow Jones SDLC policies and procedures
- Ensures adherence with all regulatory compliance procedures (PCI, SOX, etc)
Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will have a diverse professional background including demonstrated success delivering/managing an application portfolio in an enterprise environment. A minimum of 10 years IT management experience with responsibility for overseeing application development, technology planning, and quality assurance in a real-time, mission-critical, 7x24 systems environment.
- Ten+ years newspaper/publishing business systems experience
- Strong technical background in developing and supporting business applications
- Proven project management experience
- Strong orientation towards customer service and product quality
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills
- Team and individual coaching and mentoring skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to travel to various Local Media Group Newspaper sites (7), New York City, and Princeton NJ Locations.
- Bachelors Degree is required
