Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting Senior Manager -Tax with all aspects of the state tax planning, state tax research, state  tax contingencies and may also involve in state tax compliance functions.    In addition, this position will provide support to the quarterly and annual tax provision process.

Responsibilities:

* Be independently able to research state tax issues and work on other special projects as assigned.
* Assist Sr. Manager -Tax on various on-going and future state tax audits.
* Be independently able to work on and negotiate with state tax auditors for the proper audit results.
* Based on the prior state tax experience, be able to come up with the appropriate state tax planning ideas.
* Prepare work papers (including adjustments) to support the federal and state tax filings.
* Prepare apportionment factor analysis to support the income tax compliance and provision processes.
* Analyze and reconcile all  Tax accounts as needed.
* Prepare information needed for FIN 48 and cash flow statement disclosure.
* Prepare responses to State tax notices as necessary and maintain State notice log.
* Support estimated payment process on a quarterly basis.

Requirements:

* Bachelor''s Degree: Accounting
* 5-8 years tax compliance experience.
* Strong tax compliance skills and a willingness to learn tax accounting and technical skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
* Strong organizational skills, detailed-oriented and the ability to multi-task well.
* High proficient in Excel and Word.

Desirable, But Not Required, Education Or Experience:

* Knowledge of PeopleSoft accounting system and OneSource Tax software
* Experience in Big 4, large regional CPA firm or large corporate tax department.
* An advanced degree in law or MS in Taxation
