Description
Requirements: Registered nurse license in Pennsylvania.
Licensure for advanced practice role in Pennsylvania.
Certificate of Prescriptive Authority in Pennsylvania (upon hire).
National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in area of education/subspecialty.
Masters degree from an accredited graduate school of nursing.
All CHOP employees who work in a patient building or who provide patient care are required to receive an annual influenza vaccine unless they are granted a medical or religious exemption.
Job Description: In collaboration with an attending physician, the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner is responsible for the direct care and follow-up of a population of patients that matches his/her scope of practice and skill set. The components of the role include clinical practice, consultation, professional development, education, and research.
Positions are available for Acute Care Nurse Practitioners in the following areas:
Adolescent (general pediatrics; psychiatric)
Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
Cardiac Care Unit (step-down)
Emergency Department
General Surgery
Neonatology
Orthopaedics (inpatient; part-time)
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
Pulmonary
Scope of practice and schedule will differ by position and area.
