Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Assists the Director of Strategic Planning in implementing AARP Foundation''s strategic planning and risk management process.
2.Supports development, implementation and evaluation of strategic and operational plans. Works with Foundation Grants Administration and Impact Areas and other key AARP and Foundation stakeholders to provide guidance and support to strategic initiatives. Plays a key role in the coordination and collection of materials, financial/programmatic results and process information regarding plans.
3.Conducts research and analysis on various issues. Prepares recommendations and provides analysis and reports as appropriate. Collects and analyzes dashboard related data, summarizes and evaluates data and prepares quarterly dashboard reports for Foundation President, Leadership and the Board of Directors. Maintains AARP Foundation''s strategic plan reporting system.
4.Initiates, builds and maintains relationships with key functional areas to ensure operational plans are consistent and accurate. May serve as a liaison between the Strategic Planning team and other functional units.
5.Conducts special projects for the Director of Strategic Planning and supports the work of the entire Strategic Planning team.
6.Oversees the collection of information in support of the Foundation''s strategic planning process and AARP''s strategic planning needs.
7.Partners with the Foundation''s Operations and Finance departments and other key stakeholders to ensure the appropriate and most effective and efficient solutions are implemented as well as the final product.
8.Manages projects that support the Foundation''s Strategic Planning and Risk Management efforts. Works with the stakeholders to develop and implement concepts, strategies and plans regarding AARP Foundation and AARP''s biennial strategic review.
9.Works with the Foundation Communications and Technology teams to ensure that the Foundation''s website reflects our culture of transparency.  This includes governance, dashboard and results documentation.
10.Demonstrates One AARP attributes and behaviors in all interactions.

REQUIREMENTS:
?Completion of a Bachelor''s degree in Economics, Finance, Business or a related discipline and 5 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of related training and relevant experience.
?Requires the ability to work effectively with others to gain respect, foster understanding of related issues and build support for organizational goals.  Able to effectively participate in cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and influence co-workers and business partners.
?Demonstrated ability to analyze data, prepare concise report summaries and provide sound recommendations.
?Demonstrated experience developing operational and strategic plans.
?Extensive knowledge of MS Office, including expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.
?Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and clients.
?Excellent written, verbal, visual/presentation and interpersonal communications skills.  Adept at effectively conveying complex concepts and analyses to management and staff.
