Principal PGD Electrical Engineer - Generator-1101025

Description

Position makes decisions and recommendations having significant impact on extensive engineering and related activities for the Company.  Negotiates critical and controversial issues with top level engineers and officers of other organizations and companies.  Demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning, organizing, and guiding extensive engineering programs and activities of outstanding novelty and/or importance.  Responsible for one or more programs of such diversity and scope to be of critical importance to overall company objectives. Recognized as a generator subject matter expert.

Primary duties will include:

* Provide assistance to plant sites with technical issues related to generators and rotating exciters
* Provide on and off site support for generator and rotating exciter scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting
* Formulate and make recommendations to maximize reliability of power plant generators and rotating exciters
*
Dedicated, professional individual to support maintenance, testing, and assure long term reliability of NextEra Energy''s generators and rotating exciters

*
Travel in Florida and throughout the US is required and averages about 35% of total work schedule

*
Position will include other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Qualifications

Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and 8+ years of power generation experience. Hands-on functional checkout and start-up experience with generator and rotating excitation equipment is required. High quality written, electronic, and verbal communication skills. OEM experience is desired.
