Basic Qualifications:

Must possess three or more years of supervisory experience or five or more years of experience in distribution design and work order preparation.

 

Core Competencies:

- Bachelor degree in Business or a related technical discipline; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with distribution design standards and construction methods.

- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with GO 95/128 requirements.

- Demonstrated experience reviewing work orders for adherence to design standards, construction standards and corporate policy.

- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the DSP, Rule 20, and the DIR program.

- Must demonstrate the ability to interface and/or collaborate with clients, direct reports, corporate officers, and other managers to develop solutions and facilitate cooperation between departments.

- Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze information and make sound decisions that have considerable business impact.

- Demonstrated ability to achieve results through others by prioritizing activities, delegating and monitoring the progress of assignments, and holding employees accountable for results.

- Must demonstrate excellent business mastery, including the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.

- Must demonstrate excellent management mastery, including effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation.

Typical Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the Technical Design Hub and personnel located at the Santa Ana. Typical responsibilities will include: reviewing and approving all work orders prepared by Hub personnel ensuring that all design, construction and safety standards are met and adhered to; monitoring incoming projects (DSP, IR, Rule 20, etc.) to guarantee work is assigned appropriately by skill level and to maintain workload level between the design staff; working with peer hub managers to maintain workload level across the department; interacting with managers and supervisors from peer organizations to develop and maintain high quality working relationships; managing and coordinating design activities in line with established policies and procedures; evaluating staffing levels and increase as needed to provide the correct mix of employees and contract resources to meet department goals; managing employee performance and development by conducting performance planning and reviews, coaching employees, and carrying out disciplinary actions when necessary; acting as division manager in their absence; and performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
