Description

Requirements:  License or temporary practice permit to practice professional nursing in Pennsylvania. Graduation from an NLN accredited school of nursing or college. BSN required.
At least six (6) months prior nursing experience is necessary for this position. Labor and circulate experience required. Scrub experience preferred.
Ability to provide basic nursing care to children with complex needs.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
All CHOP employees who work in a patient building or who provide patient care are required to receive an annual influenza vaccine unless they are granted a medical or religious exemption.
Job Description:  Special Delivery Unit RN. The Clinical Nurse II is a clinically competent practitioner of nursing. The nurse at this level provides nursing care to the general unit population with minimal guidance, and bases practice on identified principles and standards of care.
Opened in 2008, the SDU is the worlds first comprehensive obstetrical unit within a pediatric hospital for mothers carrying a fetus with a known birth defect. Prenatal and delivery services are contained within the same unit. Patients are cared for by a dedicated team of obstetricians, maternal fetal medicine specialists, pediatric surgeons, fetal cardiologists, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, radiologists, sonographers, nurse-midwives, nurses and social workers.
This position is for 72 hours biweekly, three, 12-hour shifts/week and every third weekend. The position is full-time benefits-eligible.
