Exploration and Commercial is accountable for exploration, commercial activities, new business development, hydrocarbon maturation, governance of Joint Ventures for Liquified Natural Gas (LNG), wind operations and governance of South American mid-stream assets.

Responsibilities:
* Create,monitor and administer EP commercial upstream agreements relative to the onshore US and assist with other EP or unconventional projects as business needs require
* Specifically included is expertise in the development of onshore Joint Venture Agreements, Participation Agreements, Farmouts, Farmins, Unitization, Production Handling and Facility Use Agreements, Oil and Gas Leases, alternative energy leases, acreage swaps/ trades, property acquisitions and divestitures, area of mutual interests agreements, Surface Use Agreements, Right-of-Ways, Easements, title clearance for drilling and related curative activities and to serve as the commercial subject matter expert for all phases of the EP lifecycle
* Primary commercial interface to joint venture industry partners as well as internal and external service providers, participating in Peer Assist and commercial framing activities
* Successful candidate will mentor less experienced commercial staff and interns and supervise and coordinate the activity of field contract brokers (numbers will vary depending on the range of the opportunity)
* Accountabilities may include:
* Provide commercial advice to unconventional or nontraditional projects, particularly in reference to land use and securing land rights for surface operations
* Work with other petroleum agreements dealing with the ownership, equity and operating rights in onshore US oil/ gas
* Participate in special projects or other activities as business needs require across onshore US
* Interface directly with the New Business,Exploration Venture Leaders, Development and Production Asset Leader(s) or other managers responsible for exploring and managing the specified assets
* Be the commercial representative on any number of Technical or Asset Teams associated with the full EP lifecycle or alternative energy projects
* Be the commercial representative on new entry opportunities (organically developed or purchased from a third part)
* Provide commercial guidance to the Asset and Technical Leaders relative to EP upstream commercial agreements to deliver the Business Plan
* Be an external interface with EP Commercial contract parties, joint venture partners and other key stakeholders
* Administer Petroleum Contract provisions (i.e. Operation proposals, AFEs, Partner meetings, Field Reviews, Audit issues)
* Negotiate and prepare legal documents and contracts to record the terms and conditions of commercial agreements
* Coordinate internal reviews of commercial agreements by the finance, legal, tax and other appropriate functions
* Evaluate and frame EP opportunities (due diligence) using commercial/land skills deployed in the acquisition and divestiture of EP assets
* Successful candidate will be commercially responsible for a certain geographic area onshore US to acquire, develop and/or divest of EP assets and provide commercial advice to line management.
Requirements:
* Must have legal authorization to work in the United States for any employer
* Must have a Bachelor''s degree in Petroleum Land Management, Energy Management/Commerce, Business, or any other degree
* MBA or Law Degree preferred
* Five (5) or more years of land and contracts experience, preferably with exposure to onshore land activities
* Experience in EP upstream onshore commercial operations function
* Understanding of and experience in oil & gas accounting, COPAS and Property Administration a plus
* The job will require the ability to successfully interface with multiple functional management lines, technical team members, industry partners, and service providers
* The successful candidate must have the ability to perform in a fast paced, sometimes intense, working environment
* The successful candidate will be expected to be flexible to business needs across onshore land and contracts with business first behaviors
* The position will require some travel to or work within field locations
