Responsibilities:
Serve as a key focal point for contract administration for the geographic area ensuring Shell''s rights are protected, obligations are met, and information in Land Administration systems/records is accurate and appropriately communicated within the organization (as applicable).
Provide research, analysis, interpretation, set up/update, support, lease maintenance (preservation of asset), and payment terms and obligations throughout the full EP lifecycle.
Accountabilities may include:
* Independently analyze and interpret applicable Petroleum Contracts to calculate accurately and provide timely set-ups, payments, and obligations.
* Independently maintain land records to ensure payments made to private, corporate, and government owners are in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, regulations, and Petroleum Contracts
* At any one time, support a number of Petroleum Contracts opportunities across the full EP lifecycle with knowledge of ownership laws, statutes, regulations and applicable systems
* Independently interface with the Technical Assets/Organization and other functional departments regarding Petroleum Contracts services. Externally interface with land owners and/or government(s) regarding Petroleum Contracts issues/matters
* Provide informational data reporting services within the department, to Technical staff/teams, and other department/parts of the organization.
* Generate standard monthly/periodic reports on payment and/or acreage information requested by technical teams and/or land operations to be used for analysis and decision making
* Assist in producing ad-hoc reports
* Support due diligence activities related to oil & gas property acquisition, divestiture, and merger
* Actively share knowledge in Petroleum Contracts matters locally and regionally.
* Contribute to the research and interpretation of information/data as assigned
The successful candidate will:
Be responsible for a geographic with leases containing differing lease maintenance and other terms/obligations, and include either private and state or Federal land owners and joint venture partners. Geographic area can be US Onshore or Offshore and cut across Shell divisions with very diverse drivers; will involve working as a member of multi-discipline teams.
* Develop and cultivate effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Keep current on applicable state laws, regulations, statutes, and Land Administration systems
* Ensure thorough, accurate, and complete compliance with Petroleum Contract terms and obligations
* Balance multiple competing priorities and customers/stakeholders in a constantly changing environment
Requirements:
* Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
* Must have a least a Bachelor''s Degree with major in Law, Petroleum Management, Business Administration or other Business related degrees.
* Minimum three (3) years of professional experience in Land Administration is required
* Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment
* Ability to self-start and direct own efforts based on high-level business objectives and guidance as necessary
