Description
Identify and analyze the financial impacts of issues and specific decisions facing NextEra Energy Resources and propose strategies to maximize the financial performance of the company. Coordinate and complete valuation assignments in an accurate and timely manner.
· Provide analytical support (financial modeling, valuation, sensitivity analysis, earnings impacts) related to proposed acquisition projects
· Develop, maintain and/or review complex financial models to support decision making for power plant acquisition activities
o Work closely with business units, tax, accounting, various technical teams and advisors to prepare detailed forecast of cash flows and financial statements
o Responsible for ensuring that all assumptions and modeling are appropriate and reasonable, while ensuring that the model accurately reflects the terms and conditions of the key project documents
o Assist in evaluation of a variety of financial structures
o Prepare, and summarize recommendations to be presented to senior management
· Assist in the preparation and presentation of financial results to management
· Analyze alternative financing packages and support project debt issuances.
· Complete ad-hoc projects and create presentations as needed
· Work in fast paced, dynamic environment with aggressive multiple deadlines
Qualifications
* Minimum Bachelor''s degree in finance, accounting or closely related field
* 2 or more years of experience in power plant acquisition or project finance modeling at an investment bank/commercial bank consulting firm or independent power producer
* Strong finance background needed; Knowledge of GAAP principles, tax rules, electricity pricing fundamentals, renewable energy financing structures very valuable
* Ability to work in a results-oriented, project-driven, fast-paced, real-time team environment, prioritize projects and deliver quality results within tight time constraints
* Aggressive self-starter with an attention to detail.
* Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
