APPOINTMENT: The College of Education and Human Services seeks to fill a Unit B (non-tenure) 9 month instructor position located on the Quad Cities Campus beginning January 14, 2010.
QUALIFICATIONS: Masters degree in Elementary Education/Reading; Counselor Education; or Bilingual/Bicultural Education. A minimum of three years' experience as a practicing professional in one of the above-listed disciplines. A record of advocacy and support for diversity.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctoral degree in one of the above-mentioned disciplines; extensive experience as a practicing professional in one of the above-mentioned disciplines; a record of support and advocacy for diversity in higher education and/or community-based services. Experience teaching at the university/college level.
RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a Unit B (non-tenure) full-time, nine-month position with 50% of the appointment assigned to facilitate recruitment with respect to diversity at the Quad Cities and Macomb Campuses. This component of the position will include the development of partnerships between COEHS and education/human services entities in the Quad Cities region. The remaining 50% of responsibilities will be instructional, as a faculty member in one of the following academic units: Curriculum and Instruction; Counselor Education; or Educational and Interdisciplinary Studies.
