Requirements: Successful completion of the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) examination, administered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
RRT-eligible with successful completion of the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) examination, administered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC), within one year of date of hire.
A valid license to practice respiratory care in Pennsylvania.
Current Basic Life Support certification.
All CHOP employees who work in a patient building or who provide patient care are required to receive an annual influenza vaccine unless they are granted a medical or religious exemption.
A certificate of completion in respiratory care from an approved respiratory care program is required.
An Associates degree is required. Bachelors degree is preferred.
No prior respiratory care experience is necessary.
This is an entry-level position.
The Respiratory Therapist Level 1 (RT 1) is a novice to advanced beginner level practitioner of respiratory care. The RT 1 at this level administers respiratory care modalities and performs routine care with guidance, following physician orders, established policies and procedures and the American Association of Respiratory Care Clinical Practices Guidelines.
