Description
We are currently seeking an Electronics/Electrical Systems Cluster Manager for Software, Electronics and Mechanical System Laboratory - one of the four Corporate Research Laboratory in 3M. This Cluster Manager has 30+ full time employees under the R&D organization and is charged with developing and deploying cutting technology to drive 3M new product growth. Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
* Working with business divisions to develop and commercialize new technologies
* Enabling new product growth through the application of existing technology
* Developing technology strategic plan
* Building the vitality of new technology (NTI) pipeline
* Overall management of laboratory personnel
Travel: Up to 10% travel will be required
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor''s degree
* Minimum of 5 years of laboratory management (R&D leadership) experience
* Experience commercializing new technologies and/or new products
Preferred Qualifications:
* Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related engineering disciplines
* Strong communication skills and proven ability to develop and maintain productive networks within the 3M technical community
* Ability to think strategically, to be able to identify and act upon technology trends external to 3M
* Proven technical and intellectual property acumen
* Business unit experience with strong business acumen
* Manufacturing/engineering experience
* Experience in electronics devices and electrical system research, development and design
Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
