Description

The Net Centric Mission Services (NCMS) Division is seeking a Video Teleconferencing (VTC) support Technician and Scheduler to provide support for the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC) and its component agencies within and/or assigned to Fort Detrick and other government agencies. The USAMRMC is an organization located at Fort Detrick, in Frederick, Maryland. USAMRMC''s approach to providing VTC services is based on a centralized Information Management/Information Technology (IM/IT) organization that receives IT problems and/or inquiries from USAMRMC users located Fort Detrick and/or the US Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) Enterprise Service Desk which is located in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

VTC responsibilities will include but not be limited to:  *  

  Analyze VTC network and recommend procurement, removal, and modification of components
*  

  Administer VTC units and desktop VTC stations
*  

  Ensure that internal VTC equipment is operational
*  

  Supervise scheduling of multi-point VTC conferences and all conference rooms with VTC capabilities
*  

  Ensure complete coverage of all internal multi-point VTC conferences
*  

  Operate and maintain VTC Bridge and multi-point control unit
*  

  Schedule bridge for use by external customers
*  

  Coordinate maintenance, repair, and parts replacement with vendor associated with hardware and software components.  
*  

  Maintain and update software application for the VTC system on appropriate server in the National Capital Region.  
*  

  Provide VTC and meeting facilitation including use of collaborative document sharing, slides, and presentations.
*  

  Apply analytical skill to understand/interpret and solve problems related to VTC


REQUIRED CLEARANCE:


*     Must possess an active SECRET clearance, or the ability to obtain a clearance before employment. REQUIRES US CITIZENSHIP

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  *  

  Must be able to travel between 15-25% of the time
*  

  At least 2 years experience in VTC or Help Desk support
*  

  Expertise in supporting Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET) connectivity and providing VTC support including scheduling, hardware maintenance, and administration  
*  

  Expertise with Remote Management tools


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  Knowledgeable in Microsoft Windows, MS Exchange and MS Outlook, Network Microsoft Project, Internet Explorer Adobe Acrobat, Formflow, Microsoft Office Suite, Norton and McAfee Antivirus, Visio, ApproveIt Winzip Macintosh Operating Systems, ActivCard Gold, Tumbleweed, Desktop Validator
*  

  Support security initiatives and issues (i.e., RCERT visits, incident handling) as well as DoD Information Assurance Certification %26 Accreditation Process (DIACAP) support efforts for the desktop community
*  

  Knowledge of technical security policies such as DOD and Army Information Assurance %26 Vulnerability Assessments (IAVAs), Microsoft Security Patches procedures and web-based efforts for providing security support at the desktop locations
*  

  Excellent customer service skills and demeanor
*  

  Demonstrated self-starter and demonstrated ability to independently resolve problems
*  

  Ability to perform effectively in a fast paced environment with short timelines
*  

  Ability to maintain a professional and courteous manner in difficult situations
*  

  Ability to maintain high quality work to manage multiple critical projects
*  

  Ability to perform and participate in a team oriented environment
*  

  Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of customers
