Description
McGraw-Hill Higher Education is looking for part-time Media Intern in their Dubuque, IA location.
The Media Intern is responsible for maintenance of web based products as well as working with in house Media Project Managers on producing and implementing new web products. The Intern will be involved in implementing site navigation and layout, creating/converting graphics, formatting/converting text, preparing purchase orders, sending projects to vendors. The Intern will take direction from Director and Media Project Managers.
Intern will work 20-35 hours per week depending on schedule. This position is open now.
Responsibilities:
* Assists in implementing and/or developing web sites. Communicates progress and status to Media Project Manager(s).
* Assists developers (all levels) in maintaining existing web sites. Works with media project managers as necessary for support.
* Create new graphics and convert existing graphics as appropriate.
* Format and convert existing text as required.
* Maintain project schedules and data. Communicate problems as necessary.
* Contract, monitor and track work being done by vendors related to specific project assignments as necessary.
* Work with all functional areas (Editorial, Marketing, Sales and EDP).
* Assist Director when necessary.
* Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
* Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree
* Interest in learning the publishing process
* Solid understanding of HTML and XML coding
* Familiarity and experience with Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat
* Familiarity and experience with Internet browsers
* Proven troubleshooting ability.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
