3M Finance hires interns into roles that provide increasing responsibility and leadership opportunities. Opportunities such as: working with cross-functional teams to execute strategic and operational plans; providing business counsel, analysis and financial recommendations to assigned business segment or staff organization; work assignments focusing on business issues such as forecasting, brand management, new product development, capital investment, strategic planning, internal controls, and other operational issues and assessing and managing risk. Internships address relevant business concerns and offer individual and team oriented projects.
Intern projects/assignments could occur in any of the functional areas of our Finance Organization. Examples of types of projects/assignments include:
Business Finance:
Assigned responsibility for a business segment, product line, plant or staff organization to provide business counsel, analysis and
financial recommendations.
Auditing:
Assigned to one or more auditing teams to perform audits in specific organizations or audit process improvement projects.
Financial Accounting Center:
Projects to improve global financial accounting processes or assigned responsibility for a business segment and/or process to provide
accurate, efficient and timely financial reporting and analysis.
Treasurers:
Specific projects to assess and make recommendations on investment or risk management strategies.
Other:
Assignments in Tax
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
* Currently enrolled as a 1st year MBA student at an accredited university
Preferred Qualifications:
* Minimum 1 year of finance and accounting experience
* Demonstrated leadership abilities and high ethical standards
* Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and team skills
* Diverse, relevant work experiences
