Basic Qualifications:
Must have five or more years experience in project management, organizational programs, contract management, or function being managed. Must have experience with the development of new technologies and applications for residential or commercial use.
Core Competencies:
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Business, or Technical Discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Typically possesses two or more years of supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated experience with collaborating with internal and external vendors and stakeholders in order to identify needs and provide solutions.
- Demonstrated experience with project management techniques including developing project plans, identifying project scope, schedule, allocating resources, and reporting results.
- Demonstrated experience with budget management.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, Visio and Project and Lotus Notes.
- Must demonstrate excellent business mastery, including the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
- Must demonstrate excellent management mastery, including effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation.
- Must demonstrate strong personal mastery, including ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
Preferences:
Knowledge of Demand Response programs, regulatory decisions and rules. Familiarity with Lotus meeting Manager and Document Libraries. Advanced Degree. PMP or Project Certification.
Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be an active member of the Tarriff Programs & Services Emerging Technologies and Markets team which is responsible for evaluating new technologies and markets to assist customers in reducing electric demand in response to specific events or high price. Typical responsibilities include: planning the portfolio of multiple and complex demand response related technology and markets to ensure alignment with SCE and business unit strategy, goals and objectives, and state (CPUC and CEC) policies and expectations; identifying devices and consumer electronics that residential customers can utilize to reduce their electric demand in response to a demand response event; identifying technologies that business customers can utilize to participate in demand response programs; collaborating with Edison SmartConnectTM and Advanced Technology to assess devices that will work with the Edison SmartConnectTM infrastructure and home area network; collaborating with internal and external stakeholders in order to develop statewide and national standards to enable demand response; developing comprehensive business and project plans and contributing to the development of department and business unit strategic plans; establishing and managing cross-functional teams including representatives from multiple business units and external representation from other Investor Owner Utilities, Commission staff, consultants, vendors, and manufacturers; providing leadership to teams and being held accountable for the performance and output of these teams; identifying required resources, establishing goals and expectations, and clearly communicating assigned responsibilities to project teams; ensuring resources are effectively allocated, team members understand the impact and value of their contribution to the team's success, are aware of their roles and responsibilities, and are held accountable for their responsibilities; providing guidance, follow-up, and feedback to assist team members to effectively achieve goals; managing project implementation and ensuring adherence to scope, schedule and budget; balancing conflicting priorities, limited resources, extremely tight planning and implementation timelines, and risks, amid a constantly changing environment; addressing and resolving team and interpersonal conflicts in a timely and professional manner; establishing and maintaining a broad network of relationships with internal and external entities to ensure visibility of the landscape of potential new demand response technologies and markets; and performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
