Description
DuPont seeks a Research Investigator - Regulatory, Separations & Mass Spectroscopy to be a part of the Regulatory Analytical group at our Stine-Haskell labs in Newark, DE.
This exciting and challenging position in the Corporate Center for Analytical Sciences is integral to our commitment to provide analytical expertise in trace-level (ppt and low ppb) quantitative method development and analytical support to the discovery, development, regulatory, and product stewardship efforts for a large variety of new and existing chemistries across the breadth of DuPont businesses.
This position will require a creative individual who can apply chemical knowledge and judgment in order to identify and solve analytical problems for complex chemistries in complex matrices (biological, environmental, and polymeric) as well as suggest/make appropriate changes to analytical experimental design in alignment with project objectives. In particular, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design and conduct of analytical studies to meet current and emerging regulatory requirements for polymer systems, including food contact, polymer extractability and polymer stability requirements.
In this position, the successful candidate will train/mentor/supervise analytical technicians and/or associates in routine and non-routine duties; write clear, cogent reports drawing appropriate conclusions from data; and consult with current/potential customers. Building and maintaining analytical connections throughout the corporation and with other corporations and universities will be important to success in this position.
Qualifications
* Ph.D. in Chemistry (with emphasis in analytical or closely related field)
* Broad chemical knowledge with sufficient depth to design challenging analytical studies and solve difficult analytical problems in a large variety of chemical systems
* Expert in separations (GC & HPLC) and mass spectrometry
* Demonstrated experience in polymer analytical measurements
* Experience operating in a regulated environment (especially food contact regulations)
* Demonstrated experience with quantitative trace-level LC/MS/MS method development (a minimum of 3 years of experience)
Preferred Qualifications
*
A technical knowledge of other HPLC detectors (e.g. ELSD) would be a plus
*
A technical knowledge of physical chemical property measurements would be a plus
*
Ability to operate under GLP regulations would be a plus
*
A working knowledge of Waters and Sciex mass spec equipment would be a plus
