Description
Rapidly growing demand for Standard & Poor''s ratings around the world has created excellent opportunities for highly motivated individuals with strong educational backgrounds in finance and economics, and pertinent work experience in credit or security analysis, fixed-income research, or corporate finance. Superior analytical skills, a proficiency in financial statement analysis, outstanding interpersonal skills and a good aptitude for written analysis are desired qualities of the appropriate candidates.
Associates hired into Corporate Ratings will be placed in industry groups where their responsibilities include the following:
* Managing relationships with senior executives of Fortune 1000 companies
* Preparing credit and security analysis for rating committees
* Monitoring and responding to credit developments and interacting with investors
* Publishing and updating credit reports
* Speaking at industry conferences
Associates must demonstrate the ability to communicate Standard & Poor''s Ratings methodology and to manage relationships with issuers, bankers, auditors, financial advisors and colleagues. A strong intellectual curiosity and the ability to respond to market changes or to offer creative financing solutions, as well as develop new products and risk models, are critical for advancement.
Qualifications
Candidates who are interested in the Associate position with Standard & Poor''s Corporate & Government Ratings must possess the following qualifications:
* Completion of an MBA degree, CFA or CPA designation a plus
* Proficiency in financial statement analysis
* Strong quantitative skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability and desire to publish analysis
* Ability to work well in a team environment and multi-task
* Candidates must hold permanent work authorization for the country for which they apply
