Standard & Poor''s is looking for a Director of Rapid Development Frameworks with strong knowledge and extensive experience in using rapid development methodologies and setting up rapid development environments in support of the growth of the enterprise. This position is responsible for architecting the environment, selecting and configuring software tools and implementing rapid development processes for the applicable software portfolio. This involves selecting and recommending tools, platforms, and solutions which meet business needs, while mentoring team members in the skills involved in the practice.  This also encompasses hands-on technical design, coding, testing, and debugging based on industry best practices for innovation and usage of rapid development tools, techniques and frameworks.   This position is typically responsible for the more complex components of the software. It involves creating a vision and communicating complex application architecture and design models.

Responsibilities:

* Identify, evaluate and recommend technologies for rapid software development and testing.
* Lead, design, and build capabilities, prototype applications, components, and common services based on best practices for rapid development and innovation.
* Design and maintain the repository for cataloging and managing software code/constructs and reusable software components.
* Implement software engineering methods/practices

Qualifications

* Bachelor''s degree or equivalent work experience or certification
* 5+ years rapid development experience with at least 2 years at a start up, technology consulting firm or think tank/research lab environment
* 3+ programming languages/technology environments
* Expertise in leading architecture design for innovation and rapid development
* Experience at evaluating next horizon technologies
* Experience at setting architecture and rapid development direction
* Expert in applicable business areas/practices (e.g. financial services, statistical modeling, risk management, financial services)
* Demonstrates leadership in the establishment of rapid development frameworks
* Advanced mathematics, modeling or statistical background
* Experience in translating and executing on a technology direction
* Demonstrates a creative, critical-thinking approach to problem solving
* Superior organizational, analytical/critical thinking skills
* Experience in supporting all application development tasks in the software engineering process
* Demonstrates ability to build relationships with business partners and/or clients
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills with business and technical staff
* Experience in Java/J2EE, Oracle and web technologies
