Description
General Responsibility:
Safety minded individual with a passion for electrical maintenance. Support and lead the application of pneumatic, low voltage, PLC, HMI, controls, and communication networks. Have the ability to plan the working procedures, materials, replacement parts, repair hours, and logical approach to troubleshooting and eliminating repair problems. Must be able to use SAP computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Strong emphasis on reducing equipment downtime and performing electrical preventative maintenance.
Inspect, adjust, repair, and replace components on production & non-production equipment, including powerhouse equipment. Heavy emphasis placed on low voltage equipment, however awareness of 480volt systems is a must. Support, validate and specify the necessary parts and materials to maintain the electrical department. Assist with maintaining and updating the electrical department technical documentation. Provide an effort directed toward helping the plant reduce machinery downtime, maximize productivity, minimize cost, and continually improve safety and quality.
Principal Duties and Expectations:
1) Provide the technical expertise which will drive Continuous Improvement in all QCDSM (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Morale) areas.
2) Assist with maintaining all equipment information, archives, and backups as necessary for machine controls and software programs.
3) Assist with ensuring that all equipment controls, control programs and associated documentation are properly managed and updated
4) Provide debugging and troubleshooting assistance as needed
5) Maintain proper level of training on technology
6) Support the maintenance of validating and updating spare parts information for machine control
7) Assist with RCFA (root cause failure analysis) relating to plant floor computer, PLC, operator interface, and control systems when needed
8) Support electrical maintenance department as directed
Qualifications
Job Knowledge / Experience:
A minimal of three years plant experience required. An applicant must be able to display basic computer knowledge of SAP, PLC''s, Operator Interfaces, Variable Frequency Drives, Servo Drives, and Microsoft Office programs.
Education Required:
Preferred to have an Associates Degree in electronics or related field, or skilled electrical technician with 3 or more years of relevant experience.
Specialized Job Knowledge or Experience Required:
Applicants must display the following traits, skills and/or abilities: Excellent human relations skills, computer skills, communication skills, organization skills, effective problem solving skills with electrical and/or electronic experience.
Inventory control skills would be beneficial.
Work Week:
Must be willing to work across multiple shifts and up to 12 hour shifts. Must be willing to support weekend production schedules.
