Sears Holdings Management Corporation provides corporate services to Sears Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: SHLD) and its family of companies, including Sears Roebuck and Co. and Kmart Corporation.General Summary:
The Solution Architect is responsible for analyzing Enterprise SHC Strategy/ business goals and realizing them into actionable IT tasks. The Solution architect is also responsible for shaping business needs into technology solutions which deliver business value and are aligned with broader enterprise architecture strategies. Within their business domain, this position provides insight into emerging technology and provides direction in the incorporation of new technology into the multi-year strategic plan. Specific responsibilities include planning for integrating new systems, providing leadership for service-oriented architecture (SOA) programs and adoption, and assessing the risk of implementing new solutions.Job Responsibilities
1. Ability to communicate with Senior IT and Business Leaders.
2. Ability to understand Enterprise SHC Strategic business goals/ drivers and drive Business Intelligence(BI) initiatives aligning to SHC Strategies.
3. Provides solution and thought leadership and ensures it is in alignment with enterprise architectural strategies.
4. Provides solutions aligned with technology roadmap that is in alignment with the broader enterprise architecture roadmap.
5. Responsible for solutions to be implemented on large data warehouses and proven leadership in providing robust solutions for Analytics, Predictive Analytics, Pattern Recognition, Data Mining, Reporting, Web Analytics and Metadata Management.
6. Develops solution alternatives to meet business needs.
7. Creates prototypes, tests new technologies and solutions, proficient with scripting and Ruby scripts.
8. Guides service development and service delivery teams on the implementation of architecture related strategies, concepts, and tools.
9. Partners with resource development managers and service delivery managers to identify technical skills and training required to support new technologies.
10. Where necessary, is involved with in-depth assessments to validate that the technology and architecture is appropriate for the business solution.
11. Acts as the subject matter expert for the technology used in the domain to address application integration and infrastructure framework related questions.
12. Evaluates hardware and software for future business expansion;
13. Prepares cost benefit analysis summaries of large complex system changes in order to cost justify changes.
Knowledge, Skills&Abilities
1. Experienced in designing solutions for multiple large data warehouses, good understanding of MPP Architecture and experienced in providing cutting edge solutions for Analytics, Predictive Analytics, Pattern Recognition, Data Mining, Reporting, Web Analytics and Metadata Management.
2. Extensive technical and architectural leadership experience in the design and development of distributed object orientated solutions using J2EE, .Net, Web Development, SOA
3. Experience with many of the following: UNIX, LINUX, Microsoft Servers, Mainframe, Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, Informix, MySQL.
4. Experience with a Hadoop, Scripting, thorough with concepts of MapReduce and proficient with Hadoop related technologies. Good understanding of data federation, click-stream, live-stream and source-stream concepts. Understanding of the concepts of schema-on-read vs. schema-on-write.
5. Candidate must be able to craft a technical vision for a substantial business analytics solution, devise technical 1 year, 3 year and 5 year roadmaps to lead to ultimate vision
6. Ability to develop architecture presentations that speaks to both IT and the ultimate business value.
7. Has solid object oriented development knowledge of J2EE, Java or .NET, and design patterns in a distributed, multi platform, heterogeneous computing environment. Ten years development experience on the J2EE/.NET or distributed technology platform required.
8. Business Intelligence and Portal experience required.
9. Infrastructure knowledge required (SAN, Database, Network, OS, etc.)
10. Heavy experience with Project Life Cycle and Software Development Lifecycle methodology required
11. Application server and integration technology experience desirable
12. Strong oral and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Education/Training
Bachelor''s degree in computer science, or equivalent; Master''s degree is preferred.
Experience
Minimum of ten years of experience required in delivering end to end programming, procedure development, applications, systems or computer operations experience or equivalent.
