Description

Responsibilities:
· Responsible for developing responses to the accuracy of Internal Revenue Service inquiries,levies and notices as needed and actively taking part in period end,audit processes and authority reviews of the US Internal Revenue Service.
· Retrieve,analyze,compile and validate data required for federal audit information,which include document requests review federal income tax workpapers prior to the start of any audit.
· Special project as needed including but not limited to assisting in federal excise tax audits and reviews,assist in Research and Development credits,respond to third party summons,presentation to various operating groups,streamlining the Form 5472 process,risk management,and other various assignments as needed.
· Prepare timely responses to IRS Information Document Requests (IDR) that anticipate questions and potential exposures in a way that supports tax positions taken on the tax return and limits additional IDRs.
· Thoroughly and accurately analyze information requests and prepare practical responses to the situation being questioned or raised by the Internal Revenue Service agents.
· Coordination and review of Transfer Pricing Documentation.
· Assist in analyzing new and proposed regulations in order to implement documentation standards within the Group.
· Assist in the abatement of employment tax penalties.
· Assist with the Tax Manual of Global Tax Standards in the area of responsibility assigned and reporting of any breaches thereof in accordance with established practices.
· Support the development and implementation of standards and priority processes in accordance with the Tax Management Framework and Controls.
· Interface with Controller staff,Compliance staff and business staff on issues related to the audits.
· Assist Senior Tax Advisors in preparing materials for presentation to IRS auditors and specialists
· Assist Tax Litigation Staff and Outside Counsel as necessary in preparing protests and responses to Appeals.
· Provide support to controllers in dealing with the Internal Revenue Service.
· Establish and maintain good working relations with the Internal Revenue Service auditors and specialists.

Requirements:
· Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
· Bachelors degree in Accounting required
· Must be a Licensed CPA.
· Knowledgeable in historical US Federal income tax laws and regulations particularly on compliance issues.
· Knowledge of federal income tax as it relates to large multinational companies, or in a professional firm in oil & gas industries.
· Experience with retrieving, analyzing, compiling and validating data required for a federal audit.
· Awareness and understanding of the corporate structure, goverance processes, controls in a tax environment (including the TMF&C), and tax accounting under GAAP and IFRS;
· The ability to work under ambiguous or pressured situations under the direction of the Sr Tax Advisor.
· Experience in the evaluation of issues and development of possible solutions under the direction of the Sr Tax Advisor;
· Experience working as a team player on Tax and cross-functional/cross-sector teams.
