Description JOB FUNCTION:
Responsible for the retention and expansion of existing business relationships, the development of new business, making referrals to other bank areas, and the servicing of a variety of retail, consumer and small businesses loans. Identifies client needs and works with customers to offer appropriate bank products and services. Manages accounts that range from an average to significant level of complexity, risk and dollar size, with some diversity and/or specialization with significant levels of authority. Negotiates within established guidelines, credit pricing, terms and structure. Business development activities typically focus on businesses with less than USD5 million in sales.

Anyone who takes a residential mortgage loan application or offers or negotiates terms of a residential mortgage loan for compensation or gain must register with the National Mortgage Loan system as a Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO). To be registered, the MLO must pass a background check. Failure to comply with registration and annual registration or not pass a criminal background check administered by NMLS will result in termination.

JOB SCOPE AND ASSIGNMENT CRITERIA:
? Scope of job = Senior level Business Banking position. High level of proficiency in handling customer relationships and portfolios. Typically manages 750 to 1,000 customers.
? Performance = Overall performance rating is Expected or higher level with progression against expectations.
? Training = Continuing education and skills development throughout career. Includes seminars, work shops and external exposure (college course work, on-line training, Webinars, etc.).
? Skills = Senior level position with maturing skills development. Solid to advanced job knowledge business development, credit, customer service, bank operations, interpersonal, public speaking, negotiation, presentation, etc. skills.
? Ability = Ability to generate and manage relationships that have a significant level of difficulty.
? Supervision = Highly independent. No official mentoring or supervisory responsibilities  focus is on relationship management.
? Experience = 5 or more years of lending and business development experience including management of a business loan portfolio.
? Decision Making = High level of independent judgment  significant latitude for decision making, higher level of interpretation required and higher impact decisions than Level 2 Banker.
? Loan Portfolio = USD15 to USD30 MM
? Portfolio Mix: Typical portfolio mix = USD10 MM or more in deposits and USD20 MM or more in loans.
? Average Balances: Majority of accounts have an average deposit balance of  greater than USD25,000 and average loan balance of greater than USD45,000.
? Loan Authority = A minimum of USD50,000. Usually greater than USD250,000

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Develops and executes a business development plan to achieve established goals and objectives. Implements a disciplined contact schedule to promote client satisfaction retain existing clients, cross-sell products and services and obtain new customer relationships.
? Cultivates prospects independently through customer referrals, networking, participation in professional organizations, social contacts and relationships built in the community.
? Uses automated business development system to manage individual calling program, schedule appointments, develop customer profiles or cross-sales opportunities, follow-up with customers and book new business.
? Personally analyzes customer credit status or obtains appropriate central underwriting approval and related documentation to ensure portfolio quality and yield are maintained.
? Makes a variety moderate to high level loans of with an average to semi-complex level of difficulty.
? Routinely monitors loan portfolios credit quality status to ensure loans are current and conform to terms, quickly identifies and manages risks to minimize impact.
? Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of all bank products, services, credit standards, bank pricing parameters, business development programs/automated systems.
? Keeps abreast of industry, competitor, financial market and other changes that may impact their portfolio or department.
? Represents the bank in civic, community and industry functions to further enhance the bank image and develop additional business.
? May provide customers with routine platform services, such as approving checks for cashing or handling customer problems. Given the nature of this job and related department support, less than 50% of the incumbents time is devoted to his duty.
? Performs other related job duties and special projects as assigned.
? May guide, direct and mentor less experienced lending staff.
? Incumbent is required to comply will all applicable federal, state and local banking and industry related laws and regulations including but not limited to the bank Secrecy Act.
? Incumbent is responsible for organizational integrity and business ethics as it relates to this position, and communicating this commitment to any applicable subordinates.
? Incumbent may have access to cash, customer accounts and/or sensitive and confidential information.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
? College degree in Business Administration; or a college degree from an accredited university coupled with at least 2 Accounting or 2 Finance classes; or equivalent work experience.
? A degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred.
? Formal Credit Training.
? 5 years of lending experience including management of a loan portfolio.
? 5 years of business development experience
? Experience working with a variety of loan accounts.
? Experience working with senior lenders on complex accounts is preferred.

MINIMUM REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
? Excellent knowledge of business development/sales tools and techniques.
? Excellent knowledge of commercial and retail lending services, documentation and underwriting.
? Excellent knowledge of bank office lending functions.
? Excellent knowledge of the loan application and loan approval process.
? Thorough knowledge of financial ratios, analysis and business principles.
? Excellent understanding of regulatory guidelines.
? Working knowledge of credit analysis and lending functions.
? Working knowledge of all bank products and services.

ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
? Ability to communicate and sell bank products and services.
? Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
? Ability to read and interpret loan documents, credit data and personal data to perform the essential job functions.
? Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions.
? Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 20 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an undue hardship then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
