The General Warehouse Worker (GW) is responsible for the expedient and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or    out of the warehouse facility. General Warehouse duties occur within the assigned area of warehouse operations, but    position supports all areas of the warehouse as needed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  Move merchandise by hand, hand truck, or forklift equipment to maintain continuous flow    of merchandise.  May be responsible for the unloading and stocking of incoming merchandise, picking of outgoing    merchandise and loading of outbound trailers.  Checks, verifies and audits merchandise and enters data into    remote data terminal to ensure that ordered merchandise has been received and that merchandise is as ordered and not    damaged or defective.  Identifies, separates, labels, and palletizes merchandise on flats to enable merchandise    to be relocated to appropriate area in distribution center.  May operate a forklift to move and put away    merchandise. Replenishes pick areas identified by replenishment reports and various request for needed    merchandise.  Obtains customer orders identifying merchandise that has been requested. Fills merchandise order    by selecting and moving merchandise from active slot to conveyor, and/or from slot to flat in order to fill.  May load outgoing merchandise from conveyor and/or four-wheel truck into trailer.  Reports damages and/or    vendor compliance issues.  Resolve problems or discrepancies with help from immediate manager.  Meet    department demands without sacrificing quality.  Maintain an acceptable level of attendance based on attendance    policy.  Ensure safety techniques are used in all aspects of daily work responsibilities.  Perform other    related duties and responsibilities as assigned.  
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  Read and speak the English language    proficiently enough to communicate with co-workers; to understand and provide directions; to respond to management    inquiries and to make entries on reports and records.  Exhibit skills and attitude which demonstrate commitment    to Company policies, principles and processes.  Basic knowledge of simple match concepts.  Basic knowledge    of and use of CRT.  Basic knowledge of use and operations of motorized merchandise movement equipment. Maintain    annual certification requirements.  Continuous effort at the level represented by the handling of weighted    merchandise, up to 70 lbs.  Requires standing, stooping, reaching and walking to do the job. Requires the    ability to perform work with hands and/or arms in the same repetitive motion above and below the shoulder level.  May be required to use narrow aisle equipment on which the operator may ascend to a level of twenty (20) feet to    pick outbound and/or stock inbound merchandise.
