QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field required. Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a degree.  Advanced degree or certification preferred.

Requires knowledge of advanced technology, business applications, and the development process and systems design in such areas as data mart or data warehouse development, SSIS or other ETL solutions, web and cloud oriented systems integration and communication based systems, languages such as C#, Python or Java. Additional training in Informatica ETL tools will be supplied.

EXPERIENCE:

Must have a minimum of seven years of professional information technology experience to include a minimum of two  years experience with deployment and support of ETL and web services solutions   Five of the seven years must be at a senior level.

Experience in one of the following areas is required:

·         Responsible for data warehousing, datamart and/or business intelligence

·         Strong experience with Informatica 8.6.x & 9.x Server Administration, DataStage or SSIS

·         ETL development background with PowerCenter 8.6.x/9.x, DataStage or SSIS

·         Development experience with Oracle 10g/11g, SQL Server 2005/2008 or Sybase repositories

·         Other programming language such as C#, Python, PL/SQL

·         Developing for shared web services for web or cloud applications

Experience in the following areas is preferred:

·         BI tools or reporting experience with SSAS, SSRS or BOE

·         Project Management Experience

·         Healthcare Payer experience

SKILLS:

The following skills are required:

·         Proficient at running SSIS or Informatica Enterprise Edition and PowerExchange, writing/maintaining Shell Scripts

·         Ability to troubleshoot ETL job issues Document software and operational procedures

·         Work independently with little direct supervision in the administration of ETL

·         Ability and understanding of concepts relating to update and maintain metadata

·         Modeling database structures, tables and fields to support initiatives as needed

·         Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, ability to react quickly to changing requirements due to product limitation or driven by enterprise need

·         Ability to provide detailed analysis of problems and recommends solutions

·         Strong oral and written communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical topics to management and non-technical audiences

·         Self-sufficient with SSIS or Informatica enterprise edition, and have an understanding of dimensional database design (Kimball methodology)

·         Design/Develop detail ETL specifications based on business requirements

·         Develop Unit Test Plans and Test Data

·         Provide guidance in the data analysis effort necessary in following all ETL standards and architecture

·         Provide guidance to other IT developers in resolving issues uncovered relating to data/workflows

·         Provide guidance in the development of system and integration test plans

·         Execute test plans and document results and discrepancies

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Gathers, defines, documents, analyzes and operationalizes  ETL/Data Integration requirements clearly to ensure that others may readily utilize such requirement plans.

Responsible for developing information architectures and complex data models and approving the modification and new implementation of database systems to support business requirements.

Responsible for the creation and management of metadata repository and for content activities such as managing, analyzing, gathering, entering or populating the BCBSLA metadata repository to meet business requirements for metadata.

Works closely with end users and IT development staff to ensure that new and existing data models and databases are consistent with approved data architecture standards.

Works with integration specialists or other ETL or integration resources to develop and evaluate data quality test plans as well as the results and quality of the data assuring compliance with corporate expectations.

Follows all SDLC as required as well as participates in the definition process for those requirements as they relate to determining Standard Operating Procedures for the department to assure that the company meets regulatory requirements.
