Description

The Senior Healthcare Analyst, Hospital Reporting is responsible for analyzing financial performance of owner hospitals and communicating financial results; identify areas of opportunity for Healthfirst and hospital senior management.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

* Respond to requests for analysis and provide analytic support to provider network department.  Required to pull data from warehouse using SAS/SQL code and generate reports using SAS.
* Review hospital performance. Conduct analyses to determine key drivers behind a hospital''s performance.  Produce hospital reporting packets for hospitals.
* Assume other special projects as directed.
* Meet with customers as needed to provide analytic support.
* Keep abreast of NY and NJ Medicaid and Medicare reforms and their impact on the health plan and owner hospital performance.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

* Maintain project documentation logs and work plans.
* Continuously improve SAS/SQL skills.  Increase understanding of managed care and HF business model.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor''s Degree

Work Experience:

* The employee is required to have demonstrated a minimum of 3-5 years of analytical experience in the Managed Care, Medicaid/Medicare, or general health insurance field.
* The employee is required to have advanced technical knowledge of SAS and SQL.

Technical Skills:

The employee is required to possess advanced level skills in SAS Programming, SQL Scripting, MS Excel, and MS Powerpoint.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly sitting and keying .

Work Environment:

The employee constantly works in an indoor environment.

Conditions of Employment:

Employee must pass pre-employment screening which includes a background check and drug testing. Employee must present documentation to verify minimum of high school educational requirement.
