Responsibilities
MAJOR OBJECTIVES
- Deliver Supplier Agreements aligned with organizational standards
- Drive cost savings through:
- More effective management of requirements
- Drive appropriate requirements into engagements to ensure quality delivery
- Support the delivery of a category plan that will result in improved quality as well as reduced costs
MAJOR ACTIVITIES
The Strategic Sourcing Senior Specialist is responsible for sourcing all assigned services for the enterprise. Partial list of sourcing functions includes but is not limited to:
- Ensuring that contracted relationships have enabled supplier performance measurement and reporting function.
- Analyzes overall business requirements, supplier relationship structures and processes to improve performance and overall value
- Manages execution and implementation of small to medium sized sourcing initiatives within assigned expenditures categories
- Develops timelines and organizes matrix team to implement sourcing strategies and initiatives
- Manages day-to-day execution of sourcing process and facilitates involvement of expert resources
- Collaborates with business staff and manages development of requests for proposals (RFP-s) and other selection and supplier evaluation tools
- Prepares negotiation and facilitates negotiation strategy in conjunction with the Business Staff and Supply Chain Management leadership where appropriate and able to lead negotiations
- Monitors and reports progress against performance objectives and sourcing initiatives
- As a key contributor, must be willing and able to act as a change agent and demonstrate resiliency as changes occur
This position includes regular contact with the following:
- Supply Chain Mgmt Leader
- Consulting and Temporary Labor Leader
- IT Consulting and Temporary Labor Lead
- Expert Resources in Information Technology, Lines of Business, Financial and Legal
- Suppliers and Alliance Partners
Qualifications
- At least 3 years in strategic sourcing & supplier management experience
- General financial analysis skills and experience
- Structured problem solving and decision making skills
- Excellent sourcing strategy and negotiation skills
- Ability to lead a diverse negotiation team
- Highly collaborative and collaborates with appropriate experts to solve problems
- Makes decisions and takes action to solve a problem for a team or a unit in the organization
- Ability to work well in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment
- Articulates potential solution(s) effectively to key executives
- Excellent project management skills
- Ability to plan and manage projects
- Driven to meeting or exceeding business and financial milestones
- Ability to apply fact-based negotiation principles and tactics
- Able to perform procurement-related economic and financial analyses
- Ability to perform total cost analysis
- Ability to provide fact based advice to decision makers and oversee development of market and industry analysis
- Understands strategic and sourcing implications of key industry trends and developments
- Understands industry cost structures and drivers and implications for strategic position
- Make recommendations to optimize supplier relationship structures
- Ability to excel in an environment of high ambiguity
- Strong communication skills, verbal, written and presentation
- Able to collaboratively develop and engage others in a commitment to sourcing strategy, values and goals
- Actively encourages the input of others in the development of the sourcing strategy within the enterprise, including superiors and peers
- Demonstrates a commitment to the enterprise vision, values and goals
- Provides meaningful and timely feedback to members of team
