Role Summary
The Business Project Sr Specialist will play a key role in designing, building, enhancing and deliver dashboards and reports for multiple business units by demonstrating technical and functional leadership in database and reporting/BI tools.  Leads the partner interfaces with operational management team to define and deliver valid and reliable performance metrics that accurately reflect outcomes and impact to customers and matrix partners.  Performs/directs root cause analysis to define drivers of issues and ad-hoc reporting to support multiple customer facing functions.  Ultimately ensures the development of business intelligence credibility that fully supports the transformation of CIGNA International¿s culture to performance management excellence through actionable information.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Work with business areas to design, build, enhance, and deliver data analytic dashboards and reports supporting multiple business units.
- Perform key reporting functions (routine and ad-hoc) and lead the team in terms of reporting expertise.
- Perform/lead/consult/direct operational measurement system analysis as indicated.
- Lead efforts to partner with business process owners to define valid and reliable performance metrics that accurately reflect outcomes and impact on matrix partners.
- Support data consolidation activities to support global management reporting and analytics (MOR, flash reporting, actuarial data needs, claim dashboard, forecasting, etc.)
- Proactively identify and initiate change to address performance and process issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and corrective action planning with business areas as indicated by trends.
- Prepare and lead performance information analytic communications for Senior Management reporting needs as requested, across multiple business units.
- Prepare and present key strategic and day to day operational analytics to both managerial and front line partners to drive changes in behaviors, metrics and performance.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Insurance/Finance environment, Operations (claims) experience preferred.
- BS degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Business or other associated discipline.
- 3 ¿ 5+ years in Business Reporting and Analytical roles with excellent database skills; proficiency in SQL, Excel, MS Access required; Experience with Oracle and SQL Server preferred.
- At least 3 years of background in authoring reports/dashboards in COGNOS, QlikView, or equivalent BI toolset required.
- Experience in transforming data into actionable information for multiple organizational levels.
- Demonstrated analytical capabilities related to financial and operational process improvements.
- Ability to maximize technology experts to deliver re-usable and scalable business process enhancements.
- Experience in identifying and developing key performance indicators and management reporting.
- Accomplished ability to manage multiple timelines and priorities for self and team.
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
