Role Summary
Participates in the design and development of major new clinical applications. Project is utilizing cutting edge technologies (combination of open source and commercial software) to create the next generation application framework for the 21st century health care marketplace within a collaborative and flexible culture. Project is using an agile development methodology (SCRUM). We are looking for development talent who can work as part of an agile team comprised of System Analysts, Developers and Quality Analysts to develop new/enhance existing functionality for our Clinical platform (Desktop, Content Management and Rules Engine). Candidate need not possess all of these qualifications but be able to learn new technologies quickly.
Responsibilities
-Works closely with client and IT management to identify application development solutions, new or modified programs, and reuse of existing code through the use of program development software alternatives, or integration of purchased solutions or a combination of the available alternatives.
-Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost effective application programming solution.
-May code new or modified programs, reuse existing code through the use of program development software alternatives and/or integrates purchased solutions.
-Documents, tests, implements and provides on-going support for the applications.
Qualifications
-Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
-5+ years of solid, diverse work experience in IT
-Strong experience with JAVA/J2EE required Experience in XML and XML technologies (JAXB, schema design, etc.)
-Experience driving middle tier development (understand topics such as scaling and messaging).
-Experience preferred in one or more of the following: Spring, Mule, Drools, Web Services/SOA
-Experience with Object Relational Mapping frameworks (ORM) such as Hibernate, iBATIS, JPA
-Experience with Flex for UI Experience creating a utility to manage business processes and configuration
-Understanding of rules engines and algorithms desirable
-Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic agile development work environment
-Strong analytical and problem solving skills
-Ability to work independently and deal with ambiguity
-Flexible, ability to deal with change
-Learning agility, able to learn quickly and apply concepts to development
-Strong team player
-Strong communication skills
