Description

HP is currently seeking a Project Manager for a position that we have available in Washington, DC.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.

The specifics of the job are as follows:

Minimum Qualifications

o   Ability to obtain US Security Clearance

o   3+ years experience in SW/IT/Telecom Project Management

·         Detailed job requirements

o   Manage Projects

·            ensure projects are running effectively and efficiently

·            ensure proper resources, schedules, and budgets are set and met

·            follow processes and client System Lifecycle processes

·            escalate issues or risks before they impact project deadlines or scope

·            create, update, review project documentation as needed to support the project and processes

·            manage multiple projects at the same time without impact to set delivery timelines

o   Report

·            utilize MS Office suite to submit project and team status reports to various levels of the business

·            submit reports on time and with quality checks on grammar, format and audience appropriateness

·            report on project decisions, actions, issues, and risks timely utilizing tools such as Meeting Agenda, Meeting Minutes, project databases, MS Project, etc.

·            Submit timecards by their deadlines with the correct project number so project hours are tracked accurately.

·            Be on time to meetings and to work as established by your customer and your management team.

o    Facilitate Communication

·            conduct project meetings with internal and client resources as much as needed to accomplished project objectives.

·            present project status when requested to various levels of internal and client staff from C-Level to individual contributors.

·            communicate project information effectively across all involved parties via multiple communication mediums (meetings, calls, emails, presentations, etc.)

·            proactively communicate understand status, escalations, issues, as necessary to your management team so that they can support you to ensure projects stay on track, on budget, and with adequate resources

·            Be able to and translate complex technical discussions and needs into language that all levels of the organization can understand.

·            Assign, coordinate, review, and store project deliverables to appropriate project resources as needed to accomplish goals.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

First Level University degree 5 years experience in project management or in like roles/businesses

Knowledge and Skills Required:

Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of key HP Services'' operational policies, processes and methodologies applicable to project management. Speaks with expertise to many layers of depth related to project management methods Participates in the HP Program Manager (PM) Professions community On the Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification path

Applies understanding of project/program requirements to execute day-to-day implementation

Applies understanding of HP service organization and functions to support internal and external customer requests

Continuously monitors, troubleshoots, and improves program to ensure program effectiveness

Applies program/project management methods and processes to define, plan, cost, resource, track and ensure the accomplishment of targeted goals

HPS/BU Business Context

Understands the market segments sold into, the business challenges addressed by HP Services(HPS)/Business Unit (BU) solutions, and HP''s strategy for market penetration

HPS/BU Solutions

Understands HPS/BU solutions in area-of-responsibility- what they consist of, product roadmaps, key technology concepts, and the competitive landscape in which they are sold

Develops methods for supporting innovation and change across the organization
