Description
Overview:
Maintain laboratory facilities and grounds in clean, comfortable, and proper working order.
Responsibilities:
1. Remove debris from work areas and dispose of properly.
2. Move equipment to sweep, mop, strip, and wax floors.
3. Dust, clean, and polish work stations and desks.
4. Clean windows, walls and restrooms.
5. Inspect, remove and clean HVAC filters and vents.
6. Inspect, clean, replace lighting fixtures.
7. Inspect, clean, replace ceiling tile.
8. Clean incubators and laboratory equipment.
9. Mow and water lawn and maintain grounds/parking lots.
10. Move equipment, supplies, boxes, and office items as requested by laboratory personnel.
11. May perform light construction and maintenance activities involving carpentry, electrical, and plumbing
Qualifications:
This position requires a basic knowledge of building maintenance and janitorial methods including cleaning, sweeping, and dusting. This position may require carpentry, electrical and plumbing knowledge and use of related tools and equipment to perform light construction and repair activities.
