Sears Holdings Management Corporation provides corporate services to Sears Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: SHLD) and its family of companies, including Sears Roebuck and Co. and Kmart Corporation.Job Summary:
The Enterprise Item Team is seeking a senior/lead level Java Developer to support and enhance our Item Maintenance Application (IMA). Person will be involved in all aspects of system development life cycle on an existing application including project estimation, gathering business requirements, functional&technical design, and application development.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develop, install, and maintain complex business applications and solutions using structured development methodology accordance with corporate standards.
2. Develops tools and procedures such as accumulation programs to gather like data to support development.
3. Interfaces with personnel internal and external to department (including offshore personnel) to support and maintain an existing production system.
4. Works with business partner to understand business requirements and translate into technical solutions.
5. Communicates technical designs to Development team (both onshore and offshore) and oversees development cycle.
6. Oversees and supports offshore development team. May be required to adjust working hours in order to support offshore development team.
7. Conducts complex technical or business analyses such as resolving complex system problems or business system procedures in order to maintain efficient operations.
8. Analyzes, determines and controls the resources used in systems programming to ensure efficient resource usage while maintaining system performance level.
9. Prepares estimates and proposes timelines for changes to an existing application
10. Acts as the subject matter expert in assisting development work teams or designing systems documentation.
11. Coordinates large system tests, conducts walkthroughs, or develop and teach technical classes in order to maintain efficient operations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Bachelor''s degree in computer science, business administration, specialized computer systems training, or equivalent. Master''s degree preferred.
2. Minimum of five years programming, procedure development, applications, systems or computer operations experience or equivalent.
3. Strong knowledge in Java, J2EE, Adobe Flex, Action Script and relational databases DB2 required. Minimum 5 years working experience preferred.
4. Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Associate must be self motivated, and display an ability to work with minimal supervision and engage with both IT and Business Clients to finalize detailed design.
5. Ability to communicate business requirements and technical designs to developers. Experience in working with offshore model is a plus.
6. Strong analytical ability. Experience with analyzing and debugging an existing complex application.
7. Good knowledge of system analysis, logic diagramming, test debugging, systems software, systems testing, systems implementation, hardware computer operations and documentation standards.A comprehensive and competitive benefit program is designed to meet the needs of our associates and their families.
