Description
Sears Holdings Management Corporation provides corporate services to Sears Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: SHLD) and its family of companies, including Sears Roebuck and Co. and Kmart Corporation.The initial focus of this position serves as a structured negotiations manager, overseeing and coordinating the online negotiation functions for assigned business groups. As a member of this team primary accountability will be to drive the structured negotiation process from category selection to product implementation and results tracking. This will include, but is not limited to, coordinating the setting up and running of the structured negotiations, with the assistance of the analyst. The manager assures adherence to the negotiaion timelines. This position reports to the Director of Structured Negotiations.Responsibilities
Responsible for the oversight of activities and processes related to the planning, design, training and reporting of the structured negotiation process (over sees analysts and internal customer relationships).
Drives the structured negotiation process including working with business stakeholders to define event details, supplier selection, overseeing development of the invitation to bid, managing the sourcing process, and ensuring the overall accuracy of data related to the negotiation
Provides project status reports and summaries to internal clients and senior management.
Creates and conducts presentations covering education, analysis, and results to all levels within buying teams, sourcing, finance and Senior Management.
Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality related to the project details and supplier information.
Coordinates the daily activities of the structured negotiations analyst and tailors work assignments to ensure success
Work with Director to coordinate the negotiation calendar
Follows up with Analyst with regular meetings on projects to ensure accurate and proper setup of the structured negotiations
Coordinates with the buying organization by working with the buyers to review and ensure the overall accuracy of the data and process needs (i.e. legal, QA, finance, etc.) related to the negotiations
Reviews and suggests items pertaining to private label and third tier brands
Quarterly Sears/Kmart and competitive visits to research merchandise and vendors to determine/suggest potential negotiation opportunities
Manages risk and customer relationships for ~10+ BUs (~150+ projects per year) including the following risk factors: price, supply, IP, financial, legal, etc.
Identifies and implements opportunities to enhance the negotiation process and maintain a high level of industry best practices (increasing structured negotiation pipeline/savings vs. prior year)
Identifies potential non-price variables relevant to the sourcing process
Provides weekly status updates to the Director during the team meetings.
Skill/Experience Requirements
3-5 years of retail experience. i.e. merchandising, marketing, store operations, and finance.
Strong attention to detail.
Proven analytical, project management, risk management, customer relationship and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret data, analyze results, and make recommendations
Results oriented, high organizational skills, able to multi-task.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Excel/Word, Access,&Power Point
Bachelor Degree in finance, accounting, business administration or equivalent.
