Description
The VP, Product Development and Mgmt. is responsible for overseeing the life cycle of all Healthfirst Products from new business development through product management. Will execute strategies by determining areas which require refinement and innovative change to accelerate Healthfirst profitability and growth. Oversee the promotion of volume growth through strategic market analysis; business planning and implementation; and analysis and reporting of the Healthfirst market and competition. This position is also responsible for overseeing the operations and is the internal subject matter expert and resource for all Products, including Medicaid, Medicare and MAP.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Evaluate new product and other business opportunities, their expected business and financial impact, and, if the opportunity appears viable, develop comprehensive business plans as well as revenue forecasts designed to meet and exceed revenue and profit objectives. Lead and execute strategic acquisitions.
· Continuously monitor external, competitive environment (Competitors and Network) to ensure that Healthfirst takes advantage of opportunities.
· Direct the analytical agenda for Healthfirst that identifies opportunities for improving product performance at the individual hospital and overall corporate levels, including the analysis of health care, financial and market data in support of Healthfirst business operations.
· Work with departments to identify opportunities for operational improvement and develop initiatives to address. Direct cross-functional and cross-departmental teams to timely implementation of business plans and products.
· Oversee development of utilization targets and health care cost projections for all Healthfirst lines of business. Review and understand revenue and utilization trends for performance of Healthfirst''s products.
· Assist with benefit design and oversee the coordination of yearly changes to products.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
· Participate and lead medical cost discussions and evaluate programs to maximize revenue and decrease costs.
· Will oversee preparation of proposals in response to RFP''s for new products or business activities.
· Gather, analyze and use data to measure and improve operations, including efficiency and staff productivity measures.
Work Experience/Qualifications:
This position requires detailed knowledge of healthcare, specifically managed care, Medicaid and Medicare regulations. Must have minimum 5 - 8 years of product management, operations and business development experience. Proven experience managing and coaching a high-level analysis and/or product management staff.

The employee is required to have Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will constantly sit and key with repetitive use of the hands. Will occasionally lift/carry between 1 10 lbs.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an indoor environment.
