LFG is seeking an Application Developer who will be responsible for evaluating and deploying solutions while adhering to standards, procedures and practices; providing input to plans and estimates for completing work; and following system development life cycle to provide software solutions. Determines how existing applications, systems, databases, interfaces and / or hardware can work together to meet new and emerging enterprise initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in designing, coding, testing and documenting software using Informatica following standard techniques and best practices. Have experience in planning, organizing, and prioritizing multiple tasks independently. Will also have competent oral and written technical communication skills.
Following is a list of responsibilities:
* Analyze, design, code and unit test solutions for moderately complex systems
* Provide input to develop project plans, test plans and implementation plans
* Develop test data
* Test programming changes thoroughly to ensure accurancy
* Investigate and resolve problems support for production systems in a timely manner
* Participate in quality assurance checks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of program changes
* Operate within established change control procedures and adhere to and help develop needed standards, procedures and practices
* Lead investigation and evaluation of internal and external solution alternatives
* Increase understanding of systems architecture
* Proactively identify problems and provide solutions
* Increase knowledge of the insurance industry
* Communicate effectively with business partners and other areas of IT
Job Requirements
Requirements:
* Bachelor''s degree in computer science, information systems or related field or equivalent work experience
* 2 - 4 years experience utilizing Informatica with relational database structures
* Experience writing SQL queries as well as creating stored procedures and views for Oracle databases
* Exposure to PERL, Autosys and Essbase a plus
