Job Summary:
Completes training program to include rotational assignments with people and project management responsibilities, pairing with seasoned management professionals, as well as periods of high-intensity classroom training and self-instruction. Trainees gain the broadest possible experience throughout the Sales and Marketing department in addition to being exposed to various senior managers and operating styles, which further enhances the leadership development experience.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities:
Become knowledgeable of all customers moving products.
Learn to develop business in the most optimal manner for CSX and our customers.
Work closely with the marketing team to develop transportation rates and contracts to increase CSX's business.
Analyze the marketplace to develop and maintain rail transportation rates.
Undergo training to develop business and revenue for the company.
Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain or Operations
1 or more years of experience required in Sales/Account Management, Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain or Rail Operations
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain nor Operations
1 or more years of experience in Sales/Account Management, Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain or Rail Operations
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively, both written and orally
Problem solving and judgment skills
Ability to deliver oral presentations to a variety of audiences
Ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization
Project execution/management skills
Ability to lead and influence others without formal authority
Ability to build relationships with business partners and customers
