They also offer a variety of merchandise and services through specialty catalogs, sears.com and are the nation's largest provider of home services, with more than 13 million service calls made annually. br/ br/ p The General Warehouse Worker (GW) is responsible for the expedient and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the warehouse facility. General Warehouse duties occur within the assigned area of warehouse operations, but position supports all areas of the warehouse as needed. /p p JOB RESPONSIBILITIES /p ul li Move merchandise by hand, hand truck, or forklift equipment to maintain continuous flow of merchandise. /li li May be responsible for the unloading and stocking of incoming merchandise, picking of outgoing merchandise and loading of outbound trailers. /li li Checks, verifies and audits merchandise and enters data into remote data terminal to ensure that ordered merchandise has been received and that merchandise is as ordered and not damaged or defective. /li li Identifies, separates, labels, and palletizes merchandise on flats to enable merchandise to be relocated to appropriate area in distribution center. /li li May operate a forklift to move and put away merchandise. Replenishes pick areas identified by replenishment reports and various request for needed merchandise. /li li Obtains customer orders identifying merchandise that has been requested. Fills merchandise order by selecting and moving merchandise from active slot to conveyor, and/or from slot to flat in order to fill. /li li May load outgoing merchandise from conveyor and/or four-wheel truck into trailer. /li li Reports damages and/or vendor compliance issues. /li li Resolve problems or discrepancies with help from immediate manager. /li li Meet department demands without sacrificing quality. /li li Maintain an acceptable level of attendance based on attendance policy. /li li Ensure safety techniques are used in all aspects of daily work responsibilities. /li li Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. /li /ul p KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS /p ul li Read and speak the English language proficiently enough to communicate with co-workers; to understand and provide directions; to respond to management inquiries and to make entries on reports and records. /li li Exhibit skills and attitude which demonstrate commitment to Company policies, principles and processes. /li li Basic knowledge of simple match concepts. /li li Basic knowledge of and use of CRT. /li li Basic knowledge of use and operations of motorized merchandise movement equipment. Maintain annual certification requirements. /li li Continuous effort at the level represented by the handling of weighted merchandise, up to 70 lbs. /li li Requires standing, stooping, reaching and walking to do the job. Requires the ability to perform work with hands and/or arms in the same repetitive motion above and below the shoulder level. /li li May be required to use narrow aisle equipment on which the operator may ascend to a level of twenty (20) feet to pick outbound and/or stock inbound merchandise. /li /ul br/ A comprehensive and competitive benefit program is designed to meet the needs of our associates and their families.
