Description

Responsible as a lead for overseeing the financial integrity of assigned projects that are of greater risk than the traditional engineering projects. The project profile may include procurement, construction, and construction mgmt. Ensures all contractual financial obligations are fulfilled in timely and economic manner. Serves as trusted business advisor to the project team. Works under minimal supervision.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities Generates, audits and timely distributes draft invoices to PM (Project Manager) or PCE (Project Controls Engineer) for review based on understanding of contract. Ensures that all taxes have been billed accurately. Uses special reports and analysis as necessary to track. Creates manual invoices as needed. Approves and mail invoices timely to support cash flow goals. Understands revenue package structure & Percent Complete Accounting. Communicates related project financial information to Project Managers. Identifies and communicates material variances to Managers (both Finance & Project). Enters project manager’s forecast, ensuring all Statutory Production Offices (SPO) are set up correctly to ensure correct inter-firm billing and profitability. Prepares project, regional office and or business area review reports. Actively participates in project, regional office, or business area reviews and be able to identify areas of financial risk & opportunity, reporting to managers.
Responsible for monitoring collections of accounts receivable by actively communicating aging risk to Project Manager (PM) and/or Project Controls Engineer (PCE) to determine necessary collection actions. Gathers information from Project Manager to open Engineering (E) type projects and confirms with Legal and Tax that the structure is correct. Utilizes effective listening skills in order to understand project requests and implement creative solutions to support project requests as well as identify and communicate problems in a diplomatic fashion to Management and Project Managers. Close out and clean-up project information within various B&V source systems ensuring the Revenue Package closes. May prepare and analyze project, office, or business area cash flow budgets & forecast. Offers training & implements new or revised invoicing procedures. Translates Project Working Capital financial information and assist the project team in understanding as necessary. Assists in the annual audit by providing information and answering questions as requested. ; Acts in capacity of a “lead person”. Does not have management responsibility for the people to whom they provide work direction.
Minimum Qualifications 4+ years related experience; Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience
Preferred Job Qualifications Microsoft Excel Intermediate
Microsoft Access Basic
Knowledge of Financial Statement analysis Basic
Knowledge of Project Management Systems Intermediate
Human Relations Skills (Written, Verbal, Client Service) Intermediate
