Description
Reporting to the Vice President, Connectivity Solutions, the Director Software and Services experience design leader will make our products simple and delightful to use through thoughtful interaction design and exceptional visual design. We are looking for an individual who can represent the profound importance of well-designed products with our engineering and product management teams. Our team objective is to fundamentally change the way people interact with their PC through simple and intuitive applications and seamless connectivity across all of their devices. Your contribution will be central to meeting this goal.
Our preferred candidate will have a background in user experience design with a deep understanding of interaction design, user experience, visual design and web front-end development processes. We seek a talented individual with expertise in defining and leading web-centric programs, as well as a proven ability to drive an experience design methodology with the conviction and rigor to ensure on-time delivery. You will grow a team of experience designers and lead the interaction with our design agencies. In parallel, the team will be expected to innovate and prototype future experiences to ensure the progression of the vision. This leader will seek out customer insights and determine creative ways to evaluate and test their hypotheses. They will also build awareness through regular demonstrations and communications to executives and critical partners.
Role Characteristics
Key deliverables:
· Lead the overall philosophy and execution of ASGs design team
· Deep consumer insight to understand how experiences and products fit with customer lifestyles and their interaction models
· An understanding of the interaction and visual design models that will appeal tpo our target segments (kids / teens /students /parents / seniors etc)
· Interaction with engineering to define the technology architecture for a common interaction model with standard web mark-up languages
· User-experience driven view of our products and services
· Exceptional aesthetic sense and the confidence to back it up
Critical tasks:
· Deliver the right vision, strategy and experience definitions
· Deliver solid segmentation and a compelling value proposition
· Recommend the right new product and technology investments

· Creation and delivery of compelling vision for software experience

· Managing conflicting priorities between businesses
· Making investment and resource tradeoffs of limited staff and funding
Qualifications
Experience
· Bachelor''s (undergraduate) degree or Master''s (graduate) degree in, Marketing, Design or non-business/technical field of study.
· Five or more years experience as senior Marketing manager within a consumer products company.
· Demonstrated leadership, team building, drive, confidence and risk taking.
· Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate and persuade, both internally and with external partners.
· Skills include: teamwork, strategy development, interpersonal, creativity, leadership, communication, and excellent presentation skills
· Knowledge and experience in: consumer market, consumer needs
· Fluency in English
