Description
Overview:
The incumbent is an expert in Information Technology quality test engineering with focus on hands-on leading Load/Performance and Automation testing. Acting as a consultant on matters of clarification and integration of quality tools and processes, incumbent identifies overall business and technology risks and defines test methods to eliminate or mitigate software risks.
Responsibilities:
*
Demonstrates expert knowledge of testing tools, including load, performance, stress, and automation tools, by developing and promoting company-wide tool implementations, and leading tools implementations.
*
Works with Project Management, DBAs, Operations and Configuration Management to ensure valid reliable QA environments.
*
Develops and executes load, performance, stress, and automated test strategies for assigned projects based on functional and non-functional specifications/ requirements.
*
Develops and adopts enterprise quality standards, processes, tools and methodologies to ensure cost efficient, timely, and effective services that support the corporate business strategy.
*
Implements use of statistical tools and methods to identify, measure and track system performance and effectiveness of testing methods.
*
Investigates and recommends new tools or develops methods to use existing tools to advance and/or expand testing capability, efficiency and throughput.
*
Communicates regularly with upper level management to assess the status of the quality assurance environment and define steps for improvement.
*
Works within the QA Group to assist and coordinate the data preparation and data gathering activities used during project testing.
*
Provides time estimates and dependencies for quality assurance tasks and projects.
*
Communicates regularly across the organization on test related initiatives.
*
Troubleshoots quality issues of highest complexity.
*
Identifies overall business and technology risks for each assignment.
*
Plans and leads technical type testing including oversight and management of the activities.
*
Conducts test reviews of a technical nature.
*
Oversees offshore testing activities.
*
Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
*
Work productively and harmoniously with others on a consistent basis.
*
Respond positively to direction and criticism of performance.
*
Consistently maintain professional and appropriate demeanor.
*
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education, Skills and Experience Requirements
*
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
*
Minimum 7 years experience in quality assurance/software load/stress testing experience.
*
LoadRunner
*
Excellent verbal communication and influencing skills.
*
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
*
Experience/skill in automation testing including test automation frameworks.
*
Test Management administration preferred.
*
Experience working in insurance systems preferred.
Attendance Requirements
Due to the nature of the needs in the office, regular and reliable attendance is required. Must be able to work at least 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and be available as situations arise requiring extended hours.
