Description
Manages a large or broad function/department within a multifaceted organization. Develops strategy and sets policy and direction. Responsible for one or more recognized professional disciplines. Assumes responsibility for the successful implementation of business plans in a defined area of responsibility. Contributes to the overall strategic definition of a function with strong business acumen. Acts as a key advisor to executive management in influencing the strategic direction of the business.
The Director of Global Product Management - FlexCampus and SMB will have the following specific responsibilities:
Geography and Regions
Worldwide with the exception of China
Revenue Responsibility and Growth
greater than USD1B revenue with expected 2x growth in next 3 years
Market Planning
1: Develop a thorough understanding of the market dynamics, customers, drivers of change and competitors
2: Develop a product strategy by putting in place a plan to achieve the market share defined by the Exec management
3: Create a clear, simple value proposition to differentiate HPN FlexCampus products vs the competition
Collaboration
Collaborate with teams across HPN and ESSN to ensure efficiencies in execution, and maximize revenue potential for solutions based selling. Drive product strategies that enable solutions and greater synergy and leverage across ESSN product lines
Portfolio Management
1: Prioritize the areas of investment and define required R&D budgets
2: Define and deliver a market leading product portfolio
Life Cycle Management Goals
1: Drive maximum profitability in all life cycle stages of the product
2: Maximize Customer Satisfaction
3: Balance investments between current and next generation products.
Product line financial performance
Successfully drive product line finance performance as measured by portfolio revenue and margin, owned opex management. As part of these responsibilities, the Director of Global Product Management, FlexCampus and SMB will be responsible for the P&L for the product line defined below in close relationship with the Advanced Technology Group, the Engineering team, the Marketing team (including local RPMM) to give to the sales team and our customers the solutions/products they need.
Product Lines Managed
Owns responsibility for all Fixed and Modular switches in the Campus Portfolio. This includes products sourced from both CEB and DCC labs (5400, 8200, 7500, 10500, 3800, 5120, 5500, etc). In addition this role is responsible for the SMB portfolio previously known as the V Series. This product line is channel focused and requires an intimate knowledge and experience of channel relationships and business dynamics
Roadmap definition & execution
Lead development and communication of future FlexCampus product roadmap/POR and successful delivery of all owned responsibilities in support of on-time new product general availability/GA (per committed MR date from R&D at POR checkpoint). Lead bi-annual cross-category POR definition and alignment process, successfully directing R&D teams to invest according to category plans and priorities.
Thought leadership and innovation
The Flexcampus Product Management team is responsible evangelizing the portfolio internally and externally, and is responsible for developing and executing on unique innovations conceived by ATG, HPLabs, R&D and the GPLM team.
Headcount
Lead and motivate a team of ~20 individual contributors and managers. Provide leadership that retains, grows and motivates employees while aligning with business needs and goals
Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:
First Level University degree and 7-10 years experience working in a solution selling organization and/or system integration projects based organization.
