Overview:
Serves as a regional resource servicing and controlling service on larger multi-location accounts, and accounts that are more difficult, complex, and technically demanding. Conducts risk evaluations to determine loss potential, management interest, support, and degree of commitment. Communicates and coordinates activities with other Risk Management staff and other departments, especially Underwriting and Claims, and with producers.
Responsibilities:
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Ability to effectively evaluate large, complex Agricultural accounts for the purpose of assessing risk exposures and controls.
* Facilitate and manage the account service plan development process; monitor service budgets; and coordinates the development of specialized customer reports, such as risk evaluation reports, service plans, mid-year reviews, and annual summary reports, etc.
* Lead service teams for assigned accounts and participate in quote surveys for large prospective accounts.
* Service accounts will include a cross section of accounts that are more difficult and technically demanding to service.
* Serves as a regional resource servicing and controlling service on larger multi-location accounts.
* Develops a systematic plan of action to reduce risk potential. Maintains profitable accounts. Responds within established time-frames and guidelines when problems arise and/or losses occur.
* Secures management''s commitment to a program designed to correct problems; assists in program implementation. Meets with the insurance buyer/decision-maker on a regular basis as outlined in the service plan.
* Evaluates account progress, suggesting program modifications and recommendations, as necessary.
* Maintains high visibility and communication with producers.
* Participates in proposals and risk evaluations of special accounts and groups. Maintains a high level of communication with Underwriting pertinent to our progress on our service accounts, and other internal departments as needed.
* Has developed special skills and knowledge specifically in regards to the agricultural class of business and exposures.
* Serves as a company training resource.
* Serves as an R&D resource for programs.
* Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
* Works productively and harmoniously with others on a consistent basis.
* Respond positively to direction and criticism of performance.
* Consistently maintain professional and appropriate demeanor.
* Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education, Skills and Experience Requirements
* College degree in safety and health, risk management, engineering or related technical curriculum required. Multiple technical certifications and/or advanced degree desired.
* 10 years experience.
* Demonstrated superior knowledge of other technical aspects of the business; e.g., Underwriting, Claims handling, Sales & Marketing.
* Superior organizational and time management skills.
* Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
* In-depth knowledge of Fire Protection equipment and practices, such as Automatic Fire sprinkler systems, Fixed extinguishing systems, and water supplies.
* Indepth knowledge of Product Liability, such as Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs.
* Indepth knowledge of Commercial Auto exposures and controls.
* Ability to work effectively with any type/size account. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of organizational management.
* Abiltiy to consistently maintain a high level of field activity.
* Demonstrated ability to conducting seminars, as well as workshop training programs for groups or individual insureds.
* Valid Driver''s License in good standing.
* Superior skills in negotiation, exposure recognition and mitigation, safety program management, written and verbal presentations, program development.
* Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and mentoring to other staff members, shows flexibility in technical approaches, and can effectively lead work groups.
* Demonstrated industry-wide leadership capabilities by any of the following: published technical research or other technical article, presentation to professional society on a national level, etc.
Attendance Requirements
Due to the nature of the needs in the office, must be able to work at least 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and be available should a situation arise requiring extended hours.
