Ambulatory Services Full-time Regular, 40 Hours-Week Data Entry Operator ll FUNCTION OF JOB Independently perform a variety of more complex clerical tasks involved in preparing, maintaining, and processing data and records to include entering data by keyboard and verifying information on a video display terminal. CHARACTERISTIC WORK 1. Perform a variety of clerical tasks to include receiving, reviewing, and verifying information reflecting registrations, charges, laboratory tests, or non-patient information. 2. Obtain additional information when records or forms are incomplete and update records accordingly. 3. Enter information into system. 4. Purge information from system as necessary to maintain accurate records. 5. Receive, separate, and distribute computer reports. 6. Compare final output to raw data (input) to assure that records are complete and accurate 7. Answer telephone and provide information to office and clinical personnel. 8. Screen, sort, and distribute mail. 9. Organize own work activities by assigning priorities to work activities to ensure completion within established guidelines. 10. Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND GIVEN Oral and-or written instructions are received from supervision. MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS 1. High school graduation or recognized equivalent. 2. One year of clerical experience, or an equivalent combination of secretarial education and experience. 3. Minimum speed of 5000 kph (keystrokes per hour) with an acceptable error percentage of 3%. ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS 1. Post-high school business courses in typing, office machines and-or computers.
